Role overview
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Diagnostic Radiographer to join its radiology service in Clitheroe, England. This is a permanent position, with full-time hours of 37.5 per week or a part-time arrangement also being considered.
The post involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of diagnostic imaging across the general radiology department and Interventional Radiology. The role supports timely, efficient radiographic services for patients, with duties spanning routine imaging as well as emergency coverage.
Key duties
- Carry out or support a broad range of diagnostic radiography procedures independently or alongside colleagues.
- Contribute to emergency radiology services across the general and CDC departments, including Bolton One when required.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images across a full range of examinations, covering daytime, evening, night and weekend shifts.
- Perform or assist with fluoroscopic imaging in the department or operating theatres.
- Manage personal workload and help organise the work of others to maintain an efficient service.
- Communicate clearly with patients, relatives, carers and healthcare professionals, including explaining procedures and handling complex or sensitive clinical information.
- Accurately document patient attendance details and enter information into systems such as CRIS and other relevant platforms.
- Take part in audit activity in line with Clinical Governance requirements.
- Support the departmental Red Dot scheme for A&E to help with rapid reporting and risk reduction.
- Follow departmental policies and contribute ideas for practice improvements where needed.
- Maintain consistently high standards of patient care.
- Act responsibly for your own practice and work within the relevant Codes of Practice.
Professional development and team contribution
The postholder will also be expected to keep up with Continuing Professional Development and to support the supervision and development of radiographers, student radiographers and other support staff.
