Database Administrator (MSSQL & NoSQL)

Role Overview

This position is for a Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL platforms, especially MongoDB and Redis. The role focuses on keeping database services fast, secure, resilient, and consistently available while supporting day-to-day operations and long-term stability.

The hiring team is looking for someone to join a global organization in Changi, Singapore, and contribute to automation, monitoring, and reliable production support.

Core Scope

• Oversee and tune MSSQL and NoSQL environments, including MongoDB and Redis.
• Maintain service reliability, performance, and high availability across database platforms.
• Strengthen operational efficiency through automation and proactive monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server versions 2019, 2022, and 2025, along with MongoDB and Redis databases.
• Carry out installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of database systems.
• Support high-availability architecture, replication, backup, and recovery processes.
• Track performance, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Build and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, and PowerShell.
• Assist with capacity planning, change management, and production deployment activities.
• Work closely with application teams, vendors, and other internal stakeholders.
• Maintain uptime, security controls, and compliance-aligned database practices.

Requirements

• Between 4 and 8 years of experience working with MSSQL, plus at least 3 years in NoSQL DBA roles.
• Deep practical knowledge of MongoDB and Redis, including clustering, caching, and replication.
• Strong Linux experience, particularly on Red Hat environments, and solid scripting ability.
• Working understanding of networking, database security, and database architecture.
• Comfortable supporting 24/7 operations and participating in on-call coverage.
