About the Role
Wilson Elser is a large defense litigation law firm with a nationwide presence, operating across 46 offices and employing more than 1,400 attorneys. Established in 1978, the firm is recognized among the top 100 U.S. law firms. It emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, client service, and innovation, and is seeking a motivated professional for a long-term opportunity in its White Plains, NY office.
This is a practical, hands-on Data Analyst role within the Business Solutions & Innovations team. The department is driving a substantial modernization of long-standing technology and business workflows, with a focus on better efficiency, sustainability, and competitive advantage.
What You Will Do
- Build and sustain reporting workflows that help internal stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Develop working knowledge of the databases that support day-to-day firm operations.
- Use Power BI Analysis Services to create visualizations and reporting outputs.
- Work with the Aderant database and software to support financial reporting needs.
- Review incoming data, perform first-pass analysis, and clean or improve the dataset as needed.
- Communicate clearly with both internal teams and external partners.
- Handle ad hoc information requests and produce timely responses.
- Examine, reverse engineer, and document legacy scripting processes.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in financial systems administration.
- 1 to 3 years of recent experience working with the Aderant financial system.
- Proven capability in data management and data analysis.
- Practical knowledge of Power BI Analysis Services.
- Strong technical ability with MS SQL, SSRS, and SQL query writing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including troubleshooting and building solutions.
- VBA and macro debugging skills are preferred.
- Familiarity with JIRA or a similar tool for task and project tracking.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort working across multiple priorities and deadlines at once.
- Excellent spoken communication skills.
- Ability to write concise, accurate reports and recommendations.
- Strong organization and follow-through for deliverables.
- Experience with legal e-billing platform transitions, integrations, and implementations is a plus.
- Knowledge of Sequel Viewpoint Systems is a plus.
- Prior experience in a mid-sized to large law firm is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred, though substantial relevant industry experience may also be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year. Final compensation may vary based on experience, education, certifications or licensure, location, market conditions, and other business needs.
This is a full-time position that qualifies for benefits, including a 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage.
