Civil Engineer

Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a Civil Engineer to support transmission line and substation projects in Ras Tanura, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on supervising site civil works, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and making sure construction is delivered according to design, specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.

Key Duties

• Oversee all civil activities at the project site, including route surveys and ROW preparation.
• Manage earthworks such as excavation, backfilling, grading, and compaction.
• Supervise foundations and piling works for towers, gantries, and equipment.
• Monitor concrete and rebar activities, including cable trenches and duct banks.
• Coordinate the construction of control buildings, access roads, and drainage systems.
• Review civil drawings, design documents, and shop drawings before execution.
• Prepare and follow method statements, while ensuring work is aligned with project procedures.
• Liaise with contractors and other disciplines to keep site activities coordinated.
• Track work progress and support QA/QC inspections and testing, including soil compaction and concrete sampling.
• Maintain compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and HSE/quality standards.
• Handle site records, as-built documentation, permitting support, and project handover tasks.

Required Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Practical understanding of civil works related to transmission lines and substations.
• Ability to interpret drawings and work in line with method statements and inspection/test plans.
• Working knowledge of site documentation, including as-built records.
• Familiarity with QA/QC basics such as soil compaction checks and concrete slump/cube tests.
• Awareness of HSE practices and site safety expectations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D is an advantage.
• Comfort using MS Office, with basic knowledge of MS Project or Primavera considered helpful.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid Saudi driving license.
• Active membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

This position is based on site in Ras Tanura and is intended for immediate project support in the civil scope of transmission line and substation works.
