Department Overview
The Office of Undergraduate Admission plays a key role in UCLA’s enrollment mission by managing recruitment, admission, and yield activities in line with the university’s values. The team works to attract strong students from varied backgrounds across California, the United States, and international locations, contributing to one of the world’s top research universities.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, Business Operations, this position supports undergraduate admission work that calls for sound independent judgment, strong policy understanding, and responsibility for detailed processes that influence admission decisions and applicant results. Core duties include application processing, transcript review, application evaluation, maintaining data accuracy, and communicating with applicants.
Key Duties
- Carry out undergraduate admission tasks that require independent decision-making and close attention to policy.
- Process applications and verify transcripts to support accurate admission review.
- Assist with application evaluation and related admission workflows.
- Maintain data integrity across admission systems and records.
- Communicate with applicants regarding admission-related matters.
Experience and Knowledge
- 1–2 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Experience working with a varied student population is required.
- Strong working knowledge of the Student Information System, Slate, and Perceptive Content is required.
- Familiarity with the UC Application for Undergraduate Admission is preferred.
- Understanding of UA office policies, procedures, and processes is preferred.
- Ability to interpret UC policies and procedures for prospective applicants and the public is preferred.
- Working knowledge of admission requirements for the campus, school, and college is required.
- Knowledge of specialized admission areas such as reconsideration, application processing, and appeals is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments with limited direction.
- Skill in prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines during changing workloads.
- Capability to build project plans, estimate workload, and assess staffing needs.
- Ability to create tracking tools and monitor workflow effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills for productive working relationships with administrators, coworkers, and staff.
- Analytical ability to assess data, issues, and procedures and recommend improvements.
- Clear written and verbal communication for reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education and Certification
A bachelor’s degree plus 1–2 years of related experience is required.
Employment Conditions
- Employment is contingent on successfully completing a background investigation.
- A Live Scan background check must be completed before the start date.
Work Schedule
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation
UCLA offers a full pay range for this role. Final salary depends on budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business factors. Offers at the top end of the range are uncommon. Benefits begin on day one, and total compensation can be estimated through the university’s compensation resources.
