Role Overview
Cvent is hiring a Business Development Representative to gain strong experience in sales, business development, and customer relationship management. The role begins with four weeks of advanced sales training before joining a high-performing, diverse sales team. The position focuses on creating the first connection with prospective and existing customers, supporting growth and market expansion for the company.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the initial contact for prospective customers and share relevant product details.
- Identify potential leads and assess them for qualification.
- Work closely with the senior sales team to support new business targets.
- Represent the company at industry events to connect with potential customers.
- Help increase attendance for seminars and online demonstrations.
- Share customer and market feedback that can inform product improvements.
- Develop relationships over the phone and manage a high-volume outbound calling schedule.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is highly driven, communicates clearly, and performs well in a fast-paced, energetic environment. This role is suited to someone who wants to make a direct contribution to company growth and who enjoys working with customers and sales targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
- 6 months to 2+ years of experience in technology or software sales.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and personal leadership.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to team goals.
- Sound business judgement, professional ethics, and high integrity.
- Comfortable building relationships and engaging prospects by phone.
- Prepared to handle 50–60 outbound calls each day.
Additional Information
The role is based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and is a full-time onsite position.
Training is provided during the first four weeks of employment.
