Automotive Technician

Role Overview

The United States Postal Service is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician in Buffalo, NY for the Buffalo NY VMF facility. This is a second-shift role with a Monday through Friday schedule and non-scheduled days on Saturday and Sunday. The starting pay is $66,586 per year, paid every two weeks, and the position includes benefits.

Schedule

Shift hours run from 3:00 PM to 11:50 PM. The job follows a Monday to Friday workweek, with Saturdays and Sundays off.

Eligibility and Driving Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record. A minimum of two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger is required, and that driving experience must have been gained in the United States, its possessions or territories, or on U.S. military installations worldwide. Candidates must also be able to communicate in and understand English, with or without a reasonable accommodation under the Rehabilitation Act.

Hiring Conditions

This position requires an exam. Applicants who do not yet have an exam score are being invited to take the exam, and the review process will continue until the available capacity is filled. Any offer of employment is conditional upon meeting medical suitability standards, general eligibility and suitability requirements, and passing the required background check. In some cases, work may begin before all conditions are fully cleared, but the offer remains conditional.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual starting salary is $66,586, paid bi-weekly. This is a career position with a strong benefits package.
