Accountant

Role overview

An experienced, detail-focused Accountant is needed to support the finance function with everyday accounting work. This position centers on accurately processing invoices, matching supplier statements, contributing to reporting cycles, and assisting with audits. The role also involves gross profit analysis, helping with supplier onboarding in accordance with internal guidelines, and taking part in month-end close activities.

Contract details

This is a 3-month contract based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The offered pay is 8K. Prior experience in the logistics sector is required.

Key responsibilities

• Record supplier invoices correctly, making sure all supporting paperwork and approvals are in place.
• Carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations and work through any mismatches.
• Prepare monthly gross profit reports and check that the figures tie back to revenue and cost data.
• Review supplier documentation during onboarding and confirm it meets company procedures and policy requirements.
• Support month-end closing tasks such as journal entries, accruals, and related reporting work.
• Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal accounting controls in all routine activities.
• Provide documents, explanations, and other support needed for internal and external audit processes.

Qualifications and skills

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Additional professional qualifications such as MBA, MCom, CPA, CA, or an equivalent certification are preferred. A background of 3 to 5 years in accounting is expected, ideally in a similar role.

Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, reconciliations, and financial reporting is important, along with solid skills in SAP, Oracle, or comparable ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. The role also calls for careful attention to detail, strong analytical ability, good organization, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy environment.
